You can't rush a Restart

While at work, my computer sent a pop-up that said restart now, snooze, or schedule. I always hit snooze, because I'm in the middle of something and it's going to make me completely start over. Well after too many snooze attempts, it restarted on it's on. What was so unusual about this restart is that it took it's precious times. I'm 90 to nothing most days with so many things to do (work & personal). Unfortunately, the computer could careless about my agenda. It was like it went on a slow walk along the beach and stopped to admire the seashells and then started building sandcastles. That's just how slow it felt like it was going to me. As I sat there rolling my eyes at the screen the Holy Spirit said to me, stop trying to rush the restart!

A restart is for several reasons. To APPLY updates, CLEAR memory, and FIX various software and hardware issues. It also helps to ensure the system is running at it's OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE and provides a FRESH START for applications and the operating system. These words stood out to me apply, clear, fix, optimal performance and fresh start.

MY GOD! MY GOD! How often have I been rushing the restart in my life? Missing important needed updates just because it's easier to delay (snooze) until a later date or time. This is my and your warning! We have to allow the restart, because it's going to apply a clear fix that will push you to your optimal performance and give you a fresh start!

COME ON HOLY SPIRIT!

The word of God says this:

Jeremiah 29:11; I know the plans I have for you (KJV). I know what I'm doing! (MSG)

Lamentations 3:22-23; Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Psalms 51:10; Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

When it was finally done restarting, the new screen image appeared and it was WOW! Everything from my icons to the layout changed and looked so much better. I can't believe I was missing out on all this because I kept hitting snooze!

Today, I want to encourage you to restart and don't rush the process!
