No Way, to My Way!

If you've ever rode a roller coaster, you know that it starts off slow and gradually progresses upwards. The fear of what you can not see ahead the higher and higher you go begins to cause anxiousness. You wonder if you made the best decision when choosing to get on the ride in the first place. Then the top of the roller coaster stares you dead in the face and swiftly plummets you straight down, curve, up again, down, in a circle all at an alarming high speed. You scream, you laugh, you might even shed a tear but the one thing you know is that the ride will soon be over!

That is how life is. Full of all those type of emotions and yet you know that when going through on the roller coaster of this life God is always with us. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, the Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

That alone should give us comfort, but because we are living in a time of so many distractions and trying to live to the standards or perceptions of man, we lose sight of what God says. God said for us to do a number of things that will help us daily.

First He told us in Jeremiah 29:11 the message version; I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out. To give you what you hoped for.

Yet we still try our way and our plans.

Secondly, He said in 1 Peter 5:7 cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Yet we hold on to worry and try to fix it.

Again God emphasizes in Matthew 19:26 with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Yet we possibly still believe our way makes more sense

Because God desires for us to have wisdom in Him only He said in Proverbs 3:5-6, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.

Yet we would rather call up our bestie first before we try that.

The one thing I've come ro realize is the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41.

This past year has taught me several things about who I am as an heir of Christ. I had to take several steps back so I could see what God was showing me.

  1. Stop being anxious! Philippians 4: 6, do not be anxious about anything

  2. Follow instructions! Psalms 32:8, I will instruct you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

  3. Live a healthy life! 1 Cornithians 10:31, so whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

  4. Ask for what you want! Matthew 21:22, if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.

  5. Appreciate the small things! Luke 16:10, whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with very much.

  6. Give more! Luke 6:38, Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will it be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

  7. Forgive & Love! Colossians 3:13 & Romans 12:9, bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.

EXHALEEEEEEE!!!!!

I'm so thankful for what God is doing and how He is choosing to do it. He is in control. Isaiah 55:8, for my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither your WAYS MY WAYS, DECLARES THE LORD.

I was never rushing the calendar year to change to 2021. What I am faithfully holding onto is that I have a Great Defender, A Refuge, A Friend, A Helper, A Protector, and A Father leading me in every breath I take. That's why I've decided NO WAY, TO MY WAY!
